Short Biography

Since October 2020, I am a security and privacy researcher at the Fraunhofer Institute for Communication, Information Processing and Ergonomics (FKIE) in the Cyber Analysis & Defense (CA&D) department and a Ph.D. student at the Chair of Communication and Distributed Systems. I studied Computer Science at the RWTH Aachen University and received my B.Sc. degree and M.Sc. degree in 2017 and 2020, respectively.

My current research focuses on efficient data authentication and integrity protection in industrial networks. Here, I am investigating how we can increase the efficiency of data authentication by leveraging the cooperative and regular nature within industrial networks and how these benefits can be extended across company borders. My research interests further include privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs) and blockchain technology.

I was awarded the Prix d'Excellence and was runner-up at the CAST-Förderpreis IT-Sicherheit for my M.Sc thesis on designing a Tor-like network that protects against malicious activities. Additionally, I received a student travel grant to present my research on efficient atomic data and cryptocurrency exchanges in Seoul, South Korea at the IEEE International Conference on Blockchain and Cryptocurrency (IEEE ICBC) in 2019.
