Overview

Originally from a Ländle far, far away, I came to Aachen in 2019 to study Computer Science here. While doing that and taking a spontaneous detour into Mathematics, I applied for a HiWi-Job at COMSYS in 2022, after which I kind of got stuck here, participating in one interesting project after the other.

Interests

Two particular, surprisingly interconnected, interests developed in that time:

  • Analysing incentives in complex systems of interacting participants and creating mechanisms that align those incentives to some global objective
  • Adapting algorithms to decentralized and highly parallelized scenarios.

Research

Since May 2025, I am affiliated with the SAFEr Grid project. In this context, I am currently working on

  • Extensions and adaptations of the max-flow problem as one ansatz to model capacity constraints in smart electricity grids
  • Efficient and robust decentralized algorithms to solve max-flow and related problems
  • Applying Network Theory (i.a. Queueing Theory, Network Calculus) to answer capacity-related questions
  • Robust, lightweight protocols for the coordination of system-critical components

Theses and HiWi-Jobs

I am availiable to supervise bachelor’s and master’s theses! If anything from the above mentioned fields or any topic broadly connected to communication, coordination or robustness of SAFEr Grid (or smart energy grids in general) interests you, please let me know! If you are curious or unsure, please still contact me, we’ll figure something out ;D.

As for HiWi-Jobs: If you are interested in working with me/us on problems I/we have, feel free to contact me - there is a good chance that we can offer you something.
