COMSYS @ LCN 2025

COMSYS researcher Ina Fink attended the IEEE Conference on Local Computer Networks (LCN) 2025 in Sydney, where she presented her latest work on access control for industrial control systems.
In her talk, Ina introduced P4Ward, an access control framework targeting P4-programmable network devices such as Intel’s Tofino. The framework achieves the millisecond-level latency required by industrial control systems while enabling fine-grained packet validation that takes into account both industrial communication protocols and payload content, including function and error codes. To support her participation at the conference, the IEEE Computer Society Technical Committee on Computer Communications (TCCC) awarded Ina a student travel grant.
LCN 2025 also provided excellent opportunities for networking and knowledge exchange among researchers from around the world. A highlight of the social program was the conference dinner held aboard a Sydney Harbour cruise, offering a scenic evening of discussion, connection, and views of the city’s iconic skyline. After the conference, Ina took the opportunity to explore more of Australia during a well-deserved private vacation.
