ICT Young Researcher Award for Jan Pennekamp

COMSYS researcher Jan Pennekamp was recently awarded with the ICT Young Researcher Award 2021 in recognition for his contributions to research related to "Information & Communication Technology" at RWTH Aachen University. In Jan's dissertation project, supervised by Professor Klaus Wehrle, he focuses on the Industrial Internet of Things, Security & Privacy, and Privacy-Enhancing Technologies.

With the yearly ICT Young Researcher Award, the profile area "Information & Communication Technology" of RWTH Aachen University honors one or more Bachelor, Master or Ph.D. students for their scientific motivation and efforts. This year, the profile area also awarded one M.Sc. research topic, besides the prize given to Jan for his Ph.D. topic. See also the official announcement.

The Speaker of ICT's Steering Committee, Professor Joost-Pieter Katoen, gave a honorific speech and presented Jan with the award, which includes a prize money of 1500 Euro.
