Title: "Forschen im Ausland mit FITweltweit: DAAD-Stipendien für die Informatik"

Abstract:
Der DAAD bietet mit dem FIT-Programm attraktive Postdoc-Stipendien am International Computer Science Institute in Berkeley und dem National Institute of Informatics in Tokyo. Dieses Programm wird nun durch das wesentlich breitere und flexiblere FITweltweit-Programm abgelöst, welches auch Doktoranden und Studenten zur Anfertigung von Masterarbeiten offen steht. Auch Aufenthalte an anderen Instituten ist mit dem neuen Programm möglich. Im Rahmen der Infoveranstaltung wird das Programm vorgestellt und ein Erfahrungsbericht gegeben.

Short Bio:
Dr. Christof Leng currently is a visiting postdoctoral researcher at ICSI, Berkeley working in the area of Big Data, collaborating with the AMP Lab at UC Berkeley. He did his PhD at DVS (TU Darmstadt) in the area of peer-to-peer networking. His research is focused on the challenges that arise, when big data, dynamic environments, and complex interactions meet. Dr. Christof Leng is active in the Gesellschaft für Informatik (German Informatics Society), currently serving as a vice president.
