Getting there

We prepared a detailed pdf document detailing how to get here.

By train:

  • From Aachen main train station (Aachen Hauptbahnhof):

Enter 'Bahnhofstraße' opposite the main station. Follow this street to the next intersection (Theaterstraße). Go to the bus stop ('Wallstraße') at the opposite side of the Theaterstraße. Take bus number 33 destination 'Vaals (NL)'. Leave the bus at stop 'Halifaxstraße'. The Computer Science Centre is the large building on the left. Bus schedules can be found here and you will find the train schedules here German Railways.
A Bus ride might be a bit of a nuisance, so consider taking a taxi (at about 8 Euros).

  • From the train station Aachen West (recommended):

From the platform (there is only one) go downstairs, turn right and follow the 'Seffenter Weg' to the first T-junction (about 300 m), then turn left into the 'Mies-v.d.-Rohe Straße', and follow it for about 500 m. The large building on the right is the Computer Science Centre. The walk should take about 10 min.

By car:

  • From the Netherlands or from Cologne (A4):

Leave the A4 motorway at exit 'Aachen-Laurensberg'. At the traffic lights turn right (direction 'Aachen'). After about 1 km turn right into 'Toledo Ring'. Take the third exit into 'Halifaxstraße'. After the second traffic lights turn left into 'Mies-v.d.-Rohe Straße'.

After the building on the left you will find the entrance to the big parking lot behind the Computer Science Centre. Our building is at the very end of this parking lot. It's the new building with the dark grey facade. COMSYS guest parking is provided in front of the building.

  • From Düsseldorf or Belgium (A44):

At the motorway junction 'Aachener Kreuz' follow the signs to 'Heerlen' (on the A4). Continue as above.

(Ridiculous RWTH) Parking permit

If you plan to drive to COMSYS by car, you can ...

  1. use the big and at most times empty parking area east of the Computer Science Centre (entrance at Mies-van-der-Rohe-Strasse). But, you need an RWTH parking permit, which you can get from the COMSYS office. Please, give us a note before. Otherwise, parking enforcement might grab your car without prior notice. Really, no joke!
  2. use the public parking space along nearby Mies-van-der-Rohe-Straße or along Halifaxstrasse, if space is available. Please always make sure to check, whether (free) parking is still allowed there.
